Enhancing the efficiency in asset recovery of the National Agency for the Management of Seized Assets
The National Agency for the Management of Seized Assets (ANABI) is implementing the project "Enhancing the efficiency in asset recovery of the National Agency for the Management of Seized Assets ", in partnership with the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The objective of the project is to improve the efficiency of the asset recovery mechanism in Romania by observing the Dutch model, which is seen as a best practice example.
Thus, during October 2022, together with prosecutors and police officers from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, two workshops will be organized with the participation of approximately 150 Romanian experts (from PICCJ, IGPR, ANABI and ANAF).
The topic will be as follows:
- asset recovery - the tracing, managing and recovering of high-value-assets (complex assets, including virtual currencies);
- addressing cooperation with off-shore jurisdictions;
- post-confiscation asset tracing victim compensation, and concluding of asset sharing agreements);
- fighting crime from a financial perspective.
The project budget amounts to EUR 20,304, which is fully funded by the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
